Although I don't think this is the best way to fully describe my skill set, I keep this here for historical purposes. Read on if you wish...

Acquire Technologies, LLC., Destin, FL, 2004-2008.

• Served as IT Director by managing cradle-to-the-grave IT support services for 15 Land Title Insurance related companies located along the Florida panhandle.
• Managed multiple mail servers that ran various MTA's (Sendmail, Qmail and Postfix), BIND DNS servers and Apache web servers on Mandriva Linux.
• Planned and discussed overall IT strategy of moving services to Linux platform. Included discussion with managers at monthly meetings for overall vision of having "Linux for the Desktop" for all PC's.
• Maintenance of servers (Mandriva version upgrades, sendmail, postfix, qmail, Bind, Apache, monit, SpamAssassin, Clam-AV, Webmin, MySQL, phpAdmin, Jabber, Perl, CPAN modules).
• Built a computer hardware management web front-end in Perl/CGI by scanning the company LAN, which extracted NetBIOS information from each PC, printer & scanner, provided links to Dell website using the captured Service tag information for use in hardware compatibility on future purchases, as well as links to PC's for VNC shadowing scanner & printer maintenance.
• Built websites using Stewart SiteBuilder, as well as in Vim using HTML, CSS and JavaScript for JPG image slideshows.
• Hardware failover project was developed using rsync & NFS to provide user email account duplication on email servers.
• Handled migration of email user accounts from home-grown Linux servers to Rackspace servers running Postfix MTA and Redhat Enterprise.
• Provided configuration and maintenance of Cisco Pix 501 firewalls to allow improved security as well as site-to-site management of network inventory.
• Assisted in the migration of entire network, including swapping Cisco firewalls, migrating email user accounts and domain name transfers after company was acquired in 2006.
• Handled configuration of all WAN routers, including NetGear, D-Link and Linksys brands, for wireless connectivity for our offices.
• Handled procurement of all IT inventory, including PC's, printers, scanners, firewalls, routers, switches, patch panels, headsets, phone & voicemail systems.
• Provided technical support, including on-site training of Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, and Office 2003 product suite.
• Handled all vendor relationships, including negotiation of service contracts for Nuvox T-1's, ITCDeltaCom's T-1's, Cox broadband, Embarq DSL, BellSouth DSL, Copy Products Company leases, SISCO AIM & TitleLogix software.
• Provided maintenance and software installations for all PC's, configuration and troubleshooting of all Sharp/Ricoh & Savin scanners and HP & Dell printers.

NYU Medical School, Radiology Department, 2002-Present.

• Extensive customization of web-based scheduling application written in Perl/CGI used for MRI equipment appointments.
• Client is an existing web hosting customer for scheduling software where I provide systems administration and maintenance of their Ubuntu (version 7.10) Linux server.
• Handled several migrations from various Linux web hosting providers, including Valueweb, CCDC, Rackspace, Mosso, MediaTemple and Slicehost, and planning of DNS propagation issues and DNs Zone record TTL's to ease the transition and minimize downtime.

ManageAmerica, Inc., 2003-2006, Virtual worker/Telecommuter.

• Handled migration of 500 employee email accounts between Rackspace Linux servers running Sendmail.
• Built web-based company directory written in Perl/CGI for various PDF reporting needs.
• Extensive customization of PerlDesk trouble-ticketing application.

Troy Research, Inc., 2003-2004, Virtual worker/Telecommuter.

• Wrote web-based testing and reporting tool in HTML::Mason and PostgreSQL to track progress of web development projects by posting comments & status updates by development teams working on websites for music companies including MTV, CBS, Sony and many others.
• Involved with various Embperl web scripting projects.
• Wrote Perl scripts for automating the creation of PostgreSQL database tables.

French Quarter Festivals, 2003, Virtual worker/Telecommuter.

• Wrote web-based CMS software in Perl/CGI for web designers to manage content of various festival music events.
• Music festival event data was sliced and diced to handle extremely specific layout requirements and sorting needs based on event categories.

Coffee Cup Software, Inc., 2001-2002, Corpus Christi, TX.

• Lead developer of http://yoursoftware.com, a joint-venture between Coffee Cup Software and Tucows.com, which was written in LAMP (PHP) to allow for user signups, software code submissions, project ratings, and search engine results based on rating and category criteria.
• Original estimate for yoursoftware.com was approximately 2 months, but I finished the initial release in less than 1 week. Further releases were made during the maintenance phase.
• Lead developer of http://yourwebhosting.com, a project built for Blue Domino Web Hosting, a Coffee Cup subsidiary. This project was written in LAMP (PHP) to allow web hosting resellers to manage their account profiles, provide control of their websites via CMS system which allowed for customized headers, footers & sidebars, banner image uploads, color selection pop-up tool written in Javascript, and other font and color page tuning enhancements.

Sun Microsystems, 2001, Switzerland division.

• Wrote web-based system in Perl/CGI for sending SMS messages throughout Europe.

AVSupport.com, 1998-1999, Virtual worker/Telecommuter.

• Wrote web-based enhancements in Perl/CGI for a aviation supply search engine that was backed by an over 10 Million record PostgreSQL database.
• Performed Linux systems administration duties to improve performance of the PostgreSQL database server and Apache web server (version 1.3).
• Wrote web crawler/spider script in Perl/CGI to search specific websites containing aviation parts data for capturing & parsing resulting HTML streams for insertion into PostgreSQL database.

EcomPartners, Inc., 1997-1999, Virtual worker/Telecommuter.

• Wrote reporting and e-commerce tools in Perl/CGI for numerous textile industry clients to display fabric choices, order status & shipment tracking information.
• Wrote web-based spreadsheet in Perl/CGI and heavy Javascript for easing the task of data entry for large fabric orders.
• Wrote store locator script in Perl/CGI for Hancock Fabrics website.
• Wrote contact us script in Perl/CGI for SunBrands website.
• Customized and maintained various client websites using HTML.

And Consulting, 1997, Virtual worker/Telecommuter.

• Wrote product search engine for Adaptec to show which peripheral cards detailed technical specification as well as PC's that were compatible with them.

BentMedia, Inc., 1996-2000, New Orleans, LA.

• Performed various Perl/CGI scripting and FreeBSD Unix systems administration duties for BentMedia's impressive list of clients, which included Tabasco, Oreck Vacuums, The Neville Brothers and Barnett Bank.
• Participated in monthly Tabasco chats with world-renowned chefs, providing installation and maintenance of the iChat server software.
• Maintained mailing list server running Majordomo with over 25,000 subscribers.
• Wrote a suite of Perl scripts to automate the maintenance of mailing list, which included handling email bounces, as well as emails requesting removal from list.
• Wrote HTML forms and Perl/CGI scripts for allowing users to subscribe & unsubscribe from list.
• Wrote Community Coffee's Product search engine in Perl/CGI to display various coffee gift sets and accessories.
• Built Oreck Vacuum's search engine in Perl/CGI, allowing users to view products that matched their criteria: included floor types, animal or dust allergies & price ranges.
• Neville Brother Bulletin Board was built and maintained in Perl/CGI for the group to provide tour schedule announcements, merchandise info and for their music fans to post comments.

Zydeco Software, 1995-1996, New Orleans, LA.

• Was lead developer for Zydeco Enterprise Document Management and Imaging software and provided on-site development services in Berkeley, CA for Bayer Pharmaceuticals.
• Wrote Windows platform DLL in the C programming language to contact the Oracle SQL database for specialized queries that couldn't be handled via SQLWindows & ODBC.
• Integrated Enterprise level version of Zydeco software with the LeadTools Twain Scanner API
• Wrote Windows platform server to handle the processing of the TIFF image file queue, using the Mitek Image Processing API to convert images into text using OCR algorithms.
• Built and managed company's website, including building a Contact Us Form in HTML and writing my first Perl/CGI script on the Windows NT platform.
• Troubleshooting of numerous flatbed and ADF style scanners (e.g., Bell & Howell, HP, Fujitsu, Ricoh, Sharp, ScanPort, Umax, Visioneer and Xerox).
• Handled technical support via phone, email and on-site for customers of Zydeco Enterprise and Zydeco for ACT!
• Source code control and Configuration Management was handled using Microsoft SourceSafe.

Naval Aviation and Medical Research Laboratory, 1994-1995, Pensacola, FL.

• Was lead developer on CBT project that required writing visual testing procedures for naval pilots in training.
• The test produced random graphics with associated questions regarding the shapes, object colors and locations within the screen about each graphic, and recorded the test taker's answers, as well as time reviewing the graphic and time to answer a question.
• This project was a Windows platform application written in the C language by using the Borland IDE.
